Alexia’s gaze returned down to the floor as she considered the question asked of her. It wasn’t a difficult one to answer, of course, but to Alexia, it meant a lot more. She had to wonder what her answer would do to either ensure, perhaps, her survival or it could guarantee her death. She didn’t know, and she was weighing everything in her chest. “I want to say no, that I would never let something like this cloud my judgement again, but I would never give a guarantee on these things. I don’t think I could ever do that.” She breathed out a heavy sigh. “I don’t want to betray the vampires again. I doubt the vampires could ever trust me again though.”
