He lied; the music studio was the LAST place that he wanted to be. Though he’d driven to it, he made sure to pass right by and head to the shopping center. It was too much to hope that he’d be invited to whatever engagement party his oldest daughter was going to have, but he at least wanted to give her and his ( shudder ) future son-in-law something. He spent the next few hours browsing the shops until he finally settled on a coffee maker, knowing how coffee was a staple in most musicians’ lives. By the time the store had finished gift wrapping it, the place was closing, so he’d driven to the local music store and browsed through the old vinyl records.

This ended with him having to sign a few autographs by the older customers, plus one or two teenagers who listed to his first two albums. Since the music store closed at around 9, he was home later than expected. Viktor set the box down on his end of the table, his gaze shifting from his youngest to the food she’d prepared.

                            “ —- I was busy.”

A classic excuse, but unless she prodded him for more information, that was all she was going to get.

she notices the box immediately, but her attention is focused on her father. he’s rarely late to dinner these days, and he looks like he’s hiding something. in fact, she knows he is.   ❛ but not at the studio, right? ❜   yes, selene had called his usual producer who had told her that viktor hadn’t spoken to him in at least a week.

❛ why is it so hard for you to be honest with me, father? ❜   the dark haired female isn’t even angry with him, so much as she’s HURT he hadn’t told her the truth to begin with. though she’d intended to hear him out this time around, however, hands lift and rub over her eyes and face before arms fall back to her sides.   ❛ never mind, i don’t want to hear it. put your plate in the microwave for a minute and a half and it should still be fine. goodnight. ❜   she’s jumping to conclusions, as selene has become accustomed to when it comes to the former rockstar she calls her father. turning around and away from the male, she moves to walk out of the dining room.
