Alexia stood in the nearly empty council room, her head bowed slightly towards the only other person in the room. Selene had called for her to be here, and Alexia could only assume that she was going to kill her. After all, Alexia had been stupid enough to believe Marius cared about her and intended to end the war. She didn’t realize that his intentions were to kill all vampires as an end to the war. He had used and lied to her, manipulating her to doing his bidding. She had so much she had hoped for with him, and it resulted in a lot of death and her being considered a traitor to the coven. Her punishment for her actions had yet to be discovered, so she supposed that was why the elder called her here, for stabbing her and helping Marius.
“Lady Selene,” Alexia started to say but fell silent. What had she wanted to say. After a moment, her eyes closed. “I will accept whatever punishment you have planned for me. But before you punish me, please allow me to explain my actions.”
selene sees herself as a reasonable enough individual, and given this case specifically, she can’t help but want to hear alexia’s reasoning. after all, the vampire elder herself had fallen for a lycan-turned-hybrid not long ago, making it so that she almost feels bad for the vampire before her. alexia has sacrificed everything in the name of love, and though the council wishes to sentence her to death, selene ( as well as david and lena ) thinks otherwise. ❛ you have one chance. explain wisely. ❜ but she mustn’t put on a lenient front, selene’s chin even lifting slightly.
